TBI Announces “Triathlete’s Choice” Best-of Event Finalists

Triathletes’ votes determines winners; revealed at Jan. 23 TBI Conference Awards Banquet

AUSTIN, TX– Dec. 29, 2016 – Triathlon Business International (TBI) today announced the finalist events that were voted by triathletes as the “Triathlete’s Choice” best events in each of four categories: best large, small, bucketlist and intro race for beginners. More than 300 events from around the world were submitted in the nomination process. The finalist events received the most nominations in each category. Winners will be announced at the 7th Annual TBI Conference, January 22-24, 2017 in Dallas TX.

It’s time for triathletes to declare their choice for the very best in each category. The voting link is Voting closes on Friday, January 13th.

As voters look at each category – large, small, bucketlist and intro race for beginners – they should consider whether the event:  challenges, inspires or brings out the best in participants; creates an atmosphere of fun, excitement and energy; goes beyond the “call of duty” when it comes to customer service, great organization and information, reasonable fees, coaching/advice, race day assistance, great volunteers, and/or; raises money for charitable causes. Each person will be limited to one vote per category.

The finalists in the “Triathlete’s Choice” events are: (Events in each category are listed in alphabetical order.)

Best Large Race (1,000+ registrants)

  1. IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City
  2. New Jersey State Triathlon
  3. TRIFEST for MS, Bentonville, AR
  4. USA Triathlon Age Group Nationals
  5. Wildflower

Best Small Race (less than 1,000 registrants)

  1. Ocean City Tri
  2. San Diego Triathlon Classic
  3. Savageman
  4. Summer Round Up Joplin, MO
  5. Tri the Wildwoods
  6. Turkey Triathlon – San Dimas

Best Intro Race for Beginners

  1. Laguna Niguel
  2. New Jersey State Triathlon – Sprint
  3. Summer Round Up Joplin, MO
  4. Tri the Wildwoods
  5. TRIFEST for MS Bentonville, AR

Best Bucketlist Race

  1. Challenge Roth
  2. Escape from Alcatraz
  3. Escape the Cape
  4. Gut Check Triathlon
  5. Ironman Kona
  6. Isklar Norseman Xtreme Triathlon

Voting deadline:  Friday, January 13, 2017, midnight. Triathletes Choice voting link.
