TBI Announces That Voting for “Best of” Events & Video Awards is Open

Winners revealed at Jan. 25 TBI Annual Conference Awards Banquet

Anaheim, CA – December 15, 2016 – Triathlon Business International (TBI), an industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon, today announced that voting is open for the “Best Of” events in three categories and videos in two categories. The voting link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TBI-2015. Voting closes on Wednesday, December 23. The winners will be revealed on Monday, January 25 at the TBI Awards Celebration and Banquet that includes the announcement of top retailers, best published triathlon article, best published triathlon photograph, the Ron Smith Award winner and the Steve Hed presentation.

Categories and considerations for voting are:

  • Best Small Multisport Event in 2015: Triathlon or multisport event under 1000 participants (worldwide). Voters should consider ambiance, safety, value in consideration for entry fee paid, overall race experience, competitiveness, as well as the experience from the perspective of volunteers, sponsors, spectators and the host community:

- Musselman
- American Triple-T
- Savagement
- Survival of the Shawangunks
- Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon
- Demi Esprit Montreal Canada

  • Best Large Multisport Event in 2015: Triathlon or multisport event over 1000 participants (worldwide). Voters should consider ambiance, safety, value in consideration for entry fee paid, overall race experience, competitiveness, as well as the experience from the perspective of volunteers, sponsors, spectators and the host community:

- Hawaiian Ironman World Championship
- Ironman Arizona
- Escape from Alcatraz
- USAT Nationals Milwaukee
- Wildflower Weekend
- IM70.3 World Championship at Zell Am See

  • Bucket List Triathlon for 2015: What triathlon or multisport event would you most like to do, exclusive of events requiring qualification:

- Challenge Roth
- Norseman
- ÖtillÖ
- Alpe d’ Huez Triathlon
- Celtman
-Swissman

  • Best short video in 2015: Videos produced by athletes, manufacturers, race organizations, clubs, host venues, sponsors that promote or explain themes in multisport. Video must be shorter than 4 minutes in length

About the Conference

Registration:

  • ·        Oct. 21 – Nov. 30:  $399 TBI members / $499 non-members (member number is required to register at member rate)
  • Dec. 1 – Jan. 14:  $575 members / $675 non-members (member number is required to register at member rate)
  • Jan. 15 and after:  $675 members / $775 non-members

Registration fees include all sessions, breakfast, lunches and a ticket to the Ron Smith Awards Celebration. Nonmember registration includes a one-year TBI membership.

Conference registration opens at 1PM Sunday, January 24, with the first session at 3PM.  The conference wraps up on Tuesday, January 26 at 12:30PM.

Special conference room rates are available at the conference host hotel the Marina del Rey Marriott.
